This apple cinnamon cottage cheese bowl is the perfect quick and easy protein packed meal that comes together with 5 ingredients or less and can be made ahead for a busy day.

I decided to jump on the cottage cheese trend to add some more protein in my diet and thought the abundance of fall apples would pair really well. I do know that cottage cheese can be polarizing and you either love it or hate it. Over the last few years I have gone through phases with it, but I have always enjoyed the small curd or whipped version made by Friendship. I will mention only Peter likes cottage cheese and unless it is blended or baked into something, neither Savanna or John like it. For me this has been are a great fall protein packed breakfast, snack or light lunch.

Adaptations:
- Replace the apples with pears or peaches in the summer
- Cook your apples (will take a little more time but you could do it in bulk)
- Use 1/4 cup of your favorite granola instead of a nut and seed mix
- Use an apple spice blend instead of cinnamon
