These Spooky Ghost & Spider Web Halloween Pancakes are a super fun and easy way to get into the halloween spirit. You can enjoy these all October long and be sure to save the pancake recipe as your new go to! The recipe can be adapted to be dairy free and gluten free for your families preferences.
This recipe comes together with less than 10 ingredients and most of them are staples!

While you can use a boxed mix this pancake recipe comes together in almost the same time. There are only 4 dry ingredients to measure and whisk together. After you mix the dry ingredients, measure and whisk the wet ingredients together.

Next pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. You do not want lumps because they may get stuck in the piping bag or bottle. Let the batter sit (you can skip this step but it helps activate the baking powder and soda and create nice and fluffy pancakes).

Lastly pour the batter into the pipping bag or bottle and cook! Have fun creating – they will not all be perfect, you can see mine were not!

Tips & Adaptations for Spooky Ghost & Spider Web Halloween Pancakes
- Flour – I used all purpose flour, but if you are a gluten free household an all purpose gluten free blend such as this one will work.
- Milk – use your favorite type! I usually use 1% regular milk or unsweetened almond.
- Neutral Oil – I use avocado but you can also melt and cool butter.
- Chocolate Chips – I use semi-sweet, but use your favorite here and make sure to get a dairy free one such as enjoy life if you need.
- Don’t feel like measuring the flours – use your favorite boxed mix!
- Tools: ziplock, pastry bag or squeeze bottle
- If using a ziplock or pastry bag make sure to cut a VERY small hole at the tip(1/8 inch). The smaller the opening the more precise you will be but the batter will come out slower.
- I place the bag into a glass to collect the dripping batter.

Spooky Ghost & Spider Web Halloween Pancakes
- 2 cups all purpose flour (gluten free blend can be used!)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups milk of choice (regular or dairy free)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup neutral oil or butter melted and cooled
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup +/- chocolate chips
- vegetable oil spray for pan
- zip lock bag, pastry bag or squeeze bottle
Ingredients:
Prepare:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a liquid measuring cup or small bowl whisk together eggs, milk, oil and vanilla.
- Add milk mixture to flour mixture and stir until well combined (you don’t want lumps to get stuck).
- Let sit for 10 minutes (I have let this sit for a few hours).
- Pour batter into ziplock, pastry bag or squeeze bottle (if using a ziplock or pastry bag make sure to cut a VERY small hole at the tip(1/8 inch). I place it into a glass to collect the dripping batter. The smaller the opening the more precise you will be but the batter will come out slower.
- Spray a non-stick skillet with vegetable oil and heat over medium heat for about 1 minute before adding your batter.
Create and Cook:
- Ghosts – draw the outline of a ghost and then fill in – cook 1-2 minutes then flip and add chocolate chip eyes and mouth and cook 1-2 minutes more.
- Spider Webs – start with a circle in the middle and then draw 6-8 lines out and back and then connect the lines with a circle around let cook 1-2 minutes and then flip add 3-4 chocolate chips as a “spider” and let cook 1-2 minutes more.
- Enjoy – these are delicious plain but feel free to dip in syrup.
