While I am lucky to have fairly good eaters and I never had an extremely picky eater, my kids are still similar to all children and will complain about certain foods and complain when I won’t allow them certain foods etc… So as they have gotten older I believe it is important for them to understand that they are very fortunate and lucky to have a balance of healthy foods because there are many children who do not know where their next meal is coming from. Since this space is about sharing food ideas I thought I would share September is Hunger Action Month. On one of our days off from school we took a short amount of time to shop and donate a box of food to Feeding Westchester.
There are a variety of other ways to help if you want to check them out here. There are also ways to help all throughout the year which you can find here. We are going to make breakfast or lunch bags as a community service event at our school this year. You can also host a food drive anytime of the year as well.
