Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Have you ever tried homemade cranberry sauce?  It is so delicious and my kids favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal (probably because it has sugar in it 🤪).  I promise once you have homemade cranberry sauce you will never go back! It comes together with 4 natural ingredients in under 30 minutes and can be made ahead!  This recipe is adaptable and has less sugar than your average recipe.  Watch me make it here.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce Adaptations

1. You can do a little as 1/2 cup a sugar and as much as a cup depending on how sweet you like it.  I usually do 2/3 cup.  I do find you need the sugar to cut the tartness of the cranberries.
2. You can swap the apple cider for water if you do not have it or want to reduce the natural sugars. I like using the apple cider because I enjoy how to balances the cranberries.
3. Love orange – swap the apple cider for orange juice and add some orange zest
4. If you don’t like spices you can eliminate the cinnamon stick
5. If you love spices you can add a pinch of cloves or allspice

If you have leftovers you can make mini baked brie cups with it for a fun part of a leftover meal!
