These classic cheeseburger sliders comes together with 5 ingredients, cooks up really fast and is sure hit with kids and adults.  We love to have fun with a topping bar for everyone to get creative and add their own personal twist and preferences.  I made ours in 12 slider (mini) size burgers, but feel free to make them any size you want!  And if you don’t have a grill or you were planning on making these and its raining these can also be made in a skillet!

Classic Cheeseburger Sliders Topping Bar Ideas:

  • 6 -12 buns or mini slider buns or rolls (I love the ones from Trader Joes)
  • 12 pieces of American, Cheddar, Muenster….
  • Tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Smash Avocado liked by the boys in our family
  • Bacon or Turkey Bacon
  • Caramelized Onions
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Tahini Sauce
  • Mayo
  • Other fun sauces: Aiolis, Cilantro Sauce, Herb Aiolis, Pesto, Chimmichurri…..

I love the flexibility of the topping bar because I find adults love to pile on fun toppings while kids enjoy them mostly on the side.  Also, I don’t know about your family, but everyone has different preferences and this allows them to choose their favorites!

Burger Patties

  1. Mix together the chop meat, coconut aminos (or soy sauce), olive oil, salt and garlic powder in a medium bowl
  2. If you are making sliders (mini burgers), using 1/3 cup measure out 12 burgers and form patties. If you are making larger burgers, divide your meat into 6-8 even patties.

On the Grill:

  1. Preheat grill to medium to high heat (about 500)
  2. Place burgers on preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side and then flip and add cheese and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees (if making larger burgers it may be about 4-5 minutes per side).
  3. Place in buns and serve with your favorite toppings

In the Skillet:

  1. Heat a grill pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add patties; cook 3 minutes or until seared. Turn patties over; top each with 1 piece of cheese. Cover and cook 2 additional minutes or until beef is done (reaches an internal temperature of 165) and cheese melts.
